A year at our school

KROP- Kids Rapt On Performing

KROP is a showcase of creative arts talents in our region to celebrate Public Education Week. This year’s theme was “Inspiring Excellence”, and our High Potential and Gifted performers demonstrated their excellence on the stage at Griffith Regional Theatre. WWPS students performed the 1950s classic “Rock Around the Clock” in a display of vocal and dancing talent that wowed the sell out crowds over 4 matinee and evening performances last Thursday and Friday. The whole cast of over 400 students joined together to sing and dance a special KROP edition of Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday” to celebrate the 21 years of KROP.

West Wyalong Public School celebrated the 25^th National Simultaneous Storytime along with 2.3 million people in over 21,000 locations across Australia. Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously all around Australia. This fun event aims to promote the value of reading and literacy. The book chosen this year for National Simultaneous Storytime was “Luna Roo: the Kangaroo Baller” by Adam Jackson, Adrian Lloyd, and Jake A Minton.

The Resilience Project (TRP) program aims to build resilience and happiness. The program focuses on promoting emotional literacy and positive emotion, specifically: Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness (GEM). TRP offers a whole-of-school-community approach, and involves students, school staff and parents/carers

School Sports Funding, provides quality coaching by approved providers. Things like Gymnastics, Table Tennis, Tennis, Athletics, Netball, AFL, NRL.
