Our principal and staff
Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.
Welcome from our principal
Being the Principal of West Wyalong Public School is both an honour and a deeply satisfying experience. Our school is located on the lands of the Wiradjuri people in the town of West Wyalong, the major centre of Bland Shire in the Riverina.
Students have access to a wide range of extracurricular opportunities, including sport, music, cultural activities, excursions, leadership, and performances. Our whole-school wellbeing program offers targeted support to meet individual needs.
We have First Nations cultural group that is supported by the local high school, the Local Aboriginal Lands Council and the Culturally Nourishing Schools Program mentor. We also provide support for students through integration funding and dedicated School Learning Support Officers.
The school benefits from an engaged parent body and active P&C, who play a key role in school planning. Our Strategic Improvement Plan prioritises literacy and numeracy growth through an evidence-based K–6 learning continuum and professional development for teachers. Greater collaboration with families and the community, alongside high expectations, aims to enhance student outcomes.
The students are the centre of everything that we do at West Wyalong Public School.
