  • Encourage positive social behaviour.

Our school provides children with a comprehensive education in the areas of:

The Arts: All students are encouraged to be engaged in activities that promote the arts. Programs in music, visual arts, dance, drama and textiles and design are offered at our school. We have strong focus on music with each class working with a specialist teacher on a weekly basis. In addition to this, we have a choir, recorder, clarinet and vocal groups if a child wishes to take on extra-curricular activities.

Sport: Our school offers a wide variety of sporting activities including, basketball, netball, swimming, AFL, rugby league, touch football, soccer, athletics, austag and cross country.

Mathematics: Mathematics is a high priority in the school's teaching program and is taught each morning through ability-based numeracy groups. Integration of mathematics into other key learning learning areas occurs through whole class programs.

Literacy: Reading is taught through literacy groups each morning, as well as through whole class English programs. We have a very successful reading tutor program where community volunteers help out with reading groups and listen to children read each day.

English: English is taught using a program called THRASS (Teaching handwriting, reading and spelling skills). Kindergarten children participate in the Jolly Phonics program to learn sounds and letter names. Our Year 1 & 3 students continue with the Jolly Grammar program. The areas of writing and talking and listening are incorporated into whole class programs with an emphasis placed on understanding different types of texts.

Other KLA'S: The key learning areas of science and technology, Human Society and its Environment, Personal Development Health and Physical Education and Creative Arts are taught in whole class programs.
